Tweetin'

How did someone realize that a simple little portal, where one can tweet, would redefine a word and start a new craze that has spread like wildfire.  Your young children, when they grow a bit older, when asked what a tweet is, won’t say that it is a sound a bird makes, they will instead log onto www.twitter.com.

I was a little reluctant at first to get involved with it, concerned that it would take away my time and privacy, but looking at it now, I can see the value in being able to relay little tidbits of information to a number of users whenever something deserves a little bit of my attention.  And it all takes just a few seconds, even with the inclusions of photos.  Looking at the top 10 of tweeters in the world, there are some pretty amazing people who are willing to share their lives.  Once again, we all get a little closer to those people we class as being….well, a different breed of super-people, who are all in fact, just people.  But interesting ones nonetheless.

With the likes of Lance, Barack, Jimmy, Brittany, Oprah, Ashton, Demi, Bruce and Ben Day (benday78) on the list of twitters (the English have another word for twitters but this is the censored version), how can you possibly proceed day to day without those little spikes of inspiration?!  When Oprah devoted a show to Twitter the other day, apparently the website’s traffic increased by 43%.  In 7 days, she has conjured up 553,259, woops, make that 553,267, no, 553,281.  Hmmmm, this could be a long piece if I keep that up.  I am just gonna say, 570,000 so by the time you read this, you can still be in the vicinity.  This perturbs me, mainly because I don’t get to use the word perturb very often, but what can she give you that I can’t people?!   Think about it.  Insights of wisdom, or sights of mountains?  Witty comments (her) or training data?  Flock to me people!  Flock here!
